Georgetown County Sheriff's Office Captain Robert Sarvis has earned the most prestigious award presented to an officer who supports Special Olympics South Carolina.
Sarvis received the Joseph Pellicci Keeper of the Flame Award this month at the Law Enforcement Torch Run Awards Luncheon. The award is named after an officer who led the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics until his death at the age of 53. Sarvis, who has spearheaded the Sheriff's Office Polar Plunge for Special Olympics since its inception, helped turn the chilly day into one of the top fundraising events for Special Olympics South Carolina.
