Georgetown County Emergency Services will conduct a joint training exercise with 3V Sigma USA on Friday, Oct. 10, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The exercise will take place in and around Woodstock Street. Residents and businesses should expect an increased presence of emergency vehicles, equipment and personnel throughout the morning and early afternoon.

This exercise is pre-planned and there is no cause for public alarm. Sirens, radios and other training effects may be audible and visible during the exercise window.

“Regular exercises with our industrial partners help us sharpen coordination, communications and response operations,” said Brandon Ellis, Director of Georgetown County Emergency Services. “By training together, we strengthen our whole-community readiness while ensuring responders are familiar with facilities, access routes and safety procedures.”

Participating agencies are expected to include Georgetown County Emergency Management, Georgetown County Fire & EMS, Georgetown City Fire Department, and 3V Sigma USA site personnel.
