Some good news from our latest briefing with the National Weather Service. Predicted rainfall over the next couple of days is down to 4-6 inches. Storm surge projections have also decreased and we are now anticipating a surge of 1-3 feet.
This doesn't mean you should let your guard down. We will still experience tropical storm force winds this afternoon through tomorrow, with sustained winds of 40-45 mph and stronger gusts. We're still waiting on river flood models and we also have to take into consideration rainfall in other areas of the state that will flow downriver to us. Expect downed trees and isolated power outages.
There are currently no damage reports. We have resources on standby if needed, but we are cautiously optimistic.
