Georgetown County government will downgrade to Operating Condition 2 - Enhanced Awareness at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7. Residents should continue to be vigilant as Tropical Storm Debby passes through our area, however forecasts have significantly reduced the amount of rainfall and storm surge expected during this event. Additionally, the storm surge watch previously in place for our area has been cancelled, with storm surge totals now predicted to be 1-3 feet above ground level.
Additionally, the Georgetown County Emergency Operations Center will cease 24-hour operations at 7 p.m. August 7 and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday, August 8. The Disaster Call Center will cease operations at 7 p.m. on August 7 and will not reopen.
