Two new Georgetown County elected officials took their oath of office on June 30.
Congratulations to incoming Treasurer Miriam Mace and incoming Auditor Ken Baker. Both were sworn in during a brief, small ceremony at 5:30 pm at the historic courthouse. They begin their four-year terms tomorrow, July 1, which is the first day of the fiscal year. Both leave behind roles in the county Assessor’s office where they served for a number of years before being elected to their new roles. Both were elected during the November 2020 general election.
Mace replaces Allison Peteet, who she won a primary election against last year, while Baker replaces Brian Shult, who announced plans to retire last year.
